Covergirl recently came out with their new spring 'Pastelicious' Collection that consists of new pastel Jumbo Gloss Balms, Lip Perfection Lipsticks, and new Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss shades. I received Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Bon Bon, a pink pastel shade, and being a pastel fan, I couldn't wait to try it out. 

It took me 3 coats to get an opaque colour as seen above, although you could still see the whites of my nails underneath and I found the polish to be a bit streaky. I loved how quickly it dried though. Once I was done with both hands, my first hand seemed to have already dried so I could quickly proceed with the second coat. The polish didn't end up looking as even as I'd like, but from a distance it isn't really noticeable. I don't know if this is because of the polish, brush, or my application... but I have a good feeling it might just be my technique...heh. The Nail Gloss is shiny enough to be worn without a top coat which is great because I am way too lazy to apply another coat of nail polish! Bon Bon is a great spring colour and it's subtle shade will surely match every outfit you have.

Make Up For Ever HD Cream Blush in 215 & 410

I'm no expert on blush, I am actually quite a beginner when it comes to applying it. I've spent the past few years trying to hide my redness and naturally flushed cheeks, and I always think to myself.. why would I want to add any type of red/pink back into my skin? Recently I've become more of a powder blush user, but only when applied LIGHTLY.. and subtly. So you can imagine my panic at the HD Blush event I previously attended, when I was forced to apply MUFE's new HD Cream Blush myself, in front of other beauty experts! Thankfully, I did a decent (but a bit heavy..) job, and the experience has helped me overcome my fear of cream blushes!

The new Make Up For Ever HD Blush was created with a blend of silicone oils, dry oils, and waxes, and is suggested to be either worn under or over a powder. I've done both, and it applies no differently. It claims to melt into the skin for a natural finish and look great on camera. The collection consists of 16 shades, perfected for every skin tone.

MUFE HD Blush in 215 (Flamingo Pink), & 410 (Coral)

As you can see, at the time this picture was taken I had not yet even touched the 410 blush! I think it was just a bit intimidating to me. The 410 blush is what they call a 'universal shade' that is made to be suitable for all skin tones. When I got around to testing it out, it did end up being much darker than the 215, but with control I was able to apply a subtle amount and build it as I pleased.

My Thoughts: 215 seemed to be a light mixture of a coral pink, and I find it very suitable for my fair skin tone. I actually wear this blush every day that I have the time to apply blush. 410 is a darker, true coral and I think would be more suitable in the summertime. The texture of these blushes are very lightweight, super easy to blend, not sticky, and dries to a powder finish. I am able to apply it with MUFE's 148 Artisan Blending Blush Brush subtly and effortlessly, or build it for a stronger look. When applied above my bronzer, it gives my face more definition and a natural glow. I don't notice the wear time, but it is very transfer resistant when I attempt to rub it off once it has dried.

In the photos above I applied the blush a lot heavier than I would on a daily basis to show the colour better. If you use a sparse brush and a light hand, applying this cream blush will be foolproof, and it can be as light or as dark as you want! I haven't ever been frustrated with applying too much and I love the blend-ability. I would definitely re-purchase if I ever run out of the 215. I've been lusting over chunky boots like these (1) since I saw that a few other bloggers had purchased them. They are so cute and both trendy and casual! With summer on it's slow but sure way here, I've determined I need summer scarves, since wearing a scarf in general is such an obsession to me, Wilfred's Croix Scarf (2) looks like the perfect spring/summer option! Blk & Saint (4) is a newly founded Canadian company by one of my favourite Big Brother Canada contestants, Neda. Neda's t-shirts are all designed by herself and I can't help but want one after seeing her rock them so chic, but effortlessly.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Crayons

Besides lip balms, my favourite type of lip product would have to be lip crayons. I have so much more control over these than a typical lipstick and I just find them more fun to apply. Little to my knowledge, Soap & Glory has had these gloss crayons out for a while, although this is their first appearance in Canada! The Soap & Glory Gloss Crayon's are available in 5 shades, but are available in 3 shades for us Canadians; Fuchsia-Ristic, Nudist, & Plum Jam.

These lip crayons are not your typical, and are designed to be collagen-boosting to offer 3D volume and intense colour payoff. They contain collagen-boosting pre-peptides for fuller, plumper, looking lips, without the tingle you usually feel from plumping lip products.

Although I was a little afraid to try these at first because of my 'larger-than-average' bottom lip, I was quite pleased with them! I hate lip products that burn, it would feel like my lips were being destroyed (ok..exaggerating a bit :p). I'm happy to report that these did not burn or tingle at all. The crayons had the typical texture of a gloss and were not as buttery smooth as I'd normally like. But I do think it's quite creative to have the texture of a gloss in a crayon form. They lasted a few hours, and you will definitely need to reapply after eating! I appreciate that they didn't show my chapped lips/peeling skin as much as other lip products would. I didn't notice any major plumping because my lips are already on the larger side, but someone with smaller lips might notice the illusion!

The colour payoff is not very strong at first but can be built up to achieve a noticeable tint of colour. I also found them to be glossier than my other lip crayons. My favourite out of the trio is definitely Nudist. It is probably the most casual and definitely in my comfort zone. The colour is subtle and like 'my lips but better'. Fuchsia-ristic is a bit deceiving, as it looks a bright orange in the tube, but when applied it is a light subtle pink. Plum Jam didn't apply as evenly as the others did, and I think it would be best over a darker lip product to give it some shine.

The Soap & Glory Gloss Crayons are available now in Canada for the month of April only! Edit: I have been spotting them in Shoppers since the beginning of May, they should stay around for a while and may become part of the permanent collection! They can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart locations nationwide for 16$, and online at Murale.ca (although, I currently can only find a few of their products on Murale, might be best to just go into a local Shoppers). I've been using this Make Up For Ever HD Blush for the past few weeks and I'm loving the way it applies and how easy it is to build the colour up. Since it's release it has already been a big hit and has actually inspired me to wear blush more often. While you're there I'd recommend picking up the 148 Artisan Brush to apply it! I haven't tried any products from REN, but if I had the choice, I'd pick up their popular Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. I picked up Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra 24hr Foundation the other day but unfortunately, what I thought was my shade match turned out to be a bit too orange. I will be bringing it back to exchange for a suitable colour because I liked that it was lightweight and looked natural. Ever since I'd begun using the Beauty Blender, I've been unable to use anything else to apply my foundation! This duo is a great bargain, as one usually costs $26 alone. And last but not least, if you're looking to build a bit of a tan before you have to show your legs on the beach, it might help to pick up St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse, or any other reliable tanning mousse available!

What did I pick up? As mentioned, I picked up the Lancome Foundation but will have to exchange it for a lighter/less orangey colour. I also picked up a single Beauty Blender, only to find out they have duos for $3 more (boo).

Tony Moly Party Lover Coloring Browcara in Light Brown

I was at Pacific Mall with a few friends during the winter, and I remembered that I had run out of my Palty Eyebrow Mascara. I scoured the internet for it, but unfortunately could not find it anywhere and came to the conclusion that it has been discontinued, or at least is not available for sale online. I was desperate to find another, but all of the brands offering eyebrow mascara in Sephora were way too shimmery or focused on making the eyebrows appear thicker, rather than coating them with colour. I walked by the new Tony Moly store and found this Party Lover Coloring Browcara in 2 shades. I picked up Light Brown, as the other option was Grey Brown. 

If you are unfamiliar with eyebrow mascara, it is essentially a mascara for the hairs on your brows. It can help with darkening, lightening, or altering the colour of your brows. I think it works best on those with thin-medium brows. If your brows are too thick, it might give them an undesired thickness. Also, it will likely never completely change the colour of your brows because it is difficult to coat the small hairs on your brows.

Although my eyebrows are not properly groomed here (and a nuisance I might add!) you can clearly see the difference from before I applied the Tony Moly Browcara, and after. The before shot is of my eyebrows slightly filled in with Maybelline's Define-a-Brow in Dark Blonde.

Tony Moly's Browcara in Light Brown is more of a medium ash brown and is matte. I think a matte brow mascara definitely give more of a natural look, as your brows won't be shimmering in the sunlight. It lasts all day on my brows and I usually apply it as a last step after filling them in with a brow pencil. It dries quickly and once it is dry, it is quite hard to rub off, but it comes off like a breeze with makeup remover. It helps to fill in and groom my brows while adding a natural tint as well.

A minor issue I have with the brow mascara is the brush! I wish the brush was made thinner and more dense so more product could be applied to the brows. Another problem is that it currently only comes in 2 shades of brown, which gives consumers such a limited selection.

Browcara can be purchased online at multiple asian cosmetic retailers. I have also seen it on eBay but I am not sure how credible the sellers are so I cannot recommend one until trying it. I purchased this for about $10-11 at the Tony Moly boutique so I wouldn't expect to pay more than that. Overall, I will purchase this again and not only does it look very natural, it is very affordable in comparison to the brow mascaras at Sephora.
